Recruiting and retaining effective educators is a nationwide challenge, however many future colleagues are likely already walking the hallways of local schools. Through partnerships between schools and educator preparation providers, supported by state policies and programs like Educators Rising, a Grow-Your-Own teacher pipeline can be developed, leading students back to classrooms in their home communities. Intentional planning and support can produce meaningful field experiences for pre-service teachers, support ongoing professional learning of teachers and faculty, as well as provide increased human capital in schools.
