KEA Launches New Difference Makers Site, Digital Ads & Public Service Announcements featuring Lt. Gov. Coleman
KEA digital ad includes KEA members, PSAs with educator and Lt. Governor Coleman
Since KEA announced its Difference Maker of the Month campaign last spring, asking current and former students to nominate an educator who made a difference in their lives, thousands of people have visited our site and hundreds have submitted nominations for consideration.
KEA just launched a new and improved Difference Makers site where Kentuckians can tell their story about a difference maker in their life and also watch KEA members tell their stories about an educator who inspired them to become a teacher. KEA also announced its first Difference Maker winners: May’s winner was Sarah Blades from Fayette County; June’s winner was Kim Coomer from Warren County; and July’s winner was Zack Neal from Campbell County.
KEA’s Difference Maker campaign will also launch digital ads this fall focusing on the importance of educators in students’ lives and in Kentucky’s communities across the commonwealth. The 30-second ad includes KEA educators and asks students and former students to tell KEA their difference maker stories and nominate a KEA Difference Maker of the month.
As part of the Difference Makers campaign, KEA sponsored both the 2024 Boys’ and Girls’ Sweet Sixteen basketball championships in March and ran radio commercials statewide in spring, asking Kentuckians to share their stories about difference makers in their lives and nominating them for the monthly award.
Public service announcements will feature Lt. Gov. Coleman, who served as a public school teacher, coach, and principal before being elected twice to her current position. Both a 30-second and 60-second version of the PSA will be distributed to radio and television stations across the Commonwealth calling on students to promote the difference that their teachers have made and are making in their lives.
Keep an eye out for a KEA Difference Maker ad or PSA, and don’t forget to nominate your difference maker for KEA’s Difference Maker of the Month award.
