At Home in Kentucky or Far Away in California, KEA Members Can Donate to Help Fellow Union Members

Team Kentucky Storm Relief Fund and California Teachers Association Disaster Relief Fund provide help to educators
Once again, a devastating natural disaster has impacted our beautiful state, families, neighbors, friends, and communities. We cannot articulate the utter heartache and sadness we have in our hearts for so many of our fellow Kentuckians who are suffering after the recent devastating floods across Kentucky.
Our hearts also go out to those affected by the fires in Los Angeles that destroyed entire neighborhoods and more than 12,000 homes—including nearly 100 educators confirmed to have lost their homes.
To our fellow KEA members directly affected by the flooding and to our fellow educators in the California Teachers Association (CTA), we are keeping you and your communities in our thoughts and prayers. For anyone who wants to help – and we know many of you do – the best thing to do is send money, not things.
At home here in Kentucky, please consider donating to the Team Kentucky Storm Relief Fund. All donations are tax-deductible and will be directed to the Kentucky residents impacted by the floods and severe weather.
CTA has a disaster relief fund in place to help those members and their families directly affected by the fires around Los Angeles. You can donate to the CTA Disaster Relief Fund by clicking here. The fund is a separate, special fund for members of CTA through voluntary contributions and is endowed to provide grants for reimbursement for losses to CTA members who have experienced significant losses due to natural or other disasters in California.
“For every union member and educator near and far, KEA members want you to know that we are here for you,” said KEA President Eddie Campbell. “And we will continue to stand with you throughout the long recovery and healing process.”
