Middle Cumberland Education Association-Retired Celebrates Read Across America by Reading to Elementary Students, Providing Free Books to Local Schools

In April, members of the Middle Cumberland Education Association-Retired (MCEA-R) visited two local elementary schools, Liberty Elementary and Hopkins Elementary, and provided free books that teachers and librarians had requested for their classrooms and students. Volunteers used object lessons to help explain the books they were reading to kids from Pre-K through 4th grade. MCEA-R received a $500 grant from KEA for the event.
